Public infrastructure in Pato village of SAS Nagar Mohali was strengthened on 12 July 2026 with the inauguration of a solar LED street lighting project aimed at enhancing safety and improving village amenities. The project was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang as part of a special initiative to promote better security and sustainable infrastructure in rural areas.
MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the inauguration programme along with local residents and community representatives. The installation of solar-powered LED street lights is expected to improve visibility in public areas, enhance safety for residents during the night, and provide a reliable, energy-efficient lighting system for the village. The initiative also supports the broader objective of expanding sustainable public infrastructure across rural Punjab.
The solar street lighting project forms part of ongoing efforts to improve rural security and basic civic infrastructure. Similar LED solar street lights are being installed in villages across Punjab to create safer public spaces, encourage the use of renewable energy, and strengthen essential village infrastructure. The project is expected to benefit pedestrians, commuters, senior citizens, and local communities by making roads and public areas better illuminated.
Following the inauguration, MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with villagers to understand their concerns and discuss local development priorities. Residents shared issues related to civic amenities, infrastructure, and other community needs. He assured them that all genuine matters would be taken up with the concerned government departments for prompt action and timely resolution, reaffirming his commitment to responsive and citizen-focused governance.
