MP Malwinder Singh Kang inaugurates RCC benches in Kurda village in the presence of MLA Kulwant Singh, followed by a Lok Milni programme with local residents.

Community infrastructure in Kurda village of SAS Nagar Mohali received a boost on 12 July 2026 with the inauguration and dedication of newly installed RCC benches for public use. The benches were inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang through his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund, providing residents with improved public seating facilities in the village.

MLA Kulwant Singh attended the programme along with local residents and community representatives. The newly installed RCC benches are expected to benefit senior citizens, visitors, and villagers by providing comfortable seating at public places, encouraging greater community interaction and making common spaces more accessible and convenient for everyone.

Following the inauguration, a Lok Milni programme was organised in the village, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with residents and discussed local development priorities. During the meeting, villagers were informed about the major development projects and public welfare initiatives implemented across Mohali over the past four and a half years under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The discussion highlighted improvements in Mohali Infrastructure, rural development, healthcare, education, public services, and citizen-centric welfare programmes that have contributed to enhancing the quality of life across SAS Nagar Mohali.

The interaction also gave residents an opportunity to share their views on local issues and community needs. Such Lok Milni programmes help strengthen communication between citizens and public representatives, improve transparency in governance, and ensure that development initiatives remain aligned with the priorities of local communities. Regular public engagement also enables better coordination with government departments for the timely implementation of development works.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that strengthening village infrastructure and maintaining regular dialogue with residents are essential for inclusive development. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to improving public infrastructure, expanding citizen services, and implementing welfare initiatives that benefit every section of society. He added that feedback received from villagers during such meetings plays an important role in guiding future development efforts. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to the continued development of Kurda village and the wider Mohali constituency. Through sustained investment in community infrastructure, responsive governance, and active public participation, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh continue to work towards improving the quality of life for residents across SAS Nagar Mohali
