Residents of Sector 69 in SAS Nagar Mohali received new community amenities on 12 July 2026 as an open gym and a water tanker were dedicated to the public during a community meeting attended by MLA Kulwant Singh and Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang. The initiatives are aimed at improving public infrastructure, promoting healthier lifestyles, and strengthening essential civic services for local residents.
During the programme, the newly developed open gym was inaugurated and formally handed over to the residents of Sector 69. The facility is expected to encourage people of all age groups to adopt healthier lifestyles by providing convenient access to outdoor fitness equipment within the community. Public recreational infrastructure such as open gyms contributes to better health, social interaction, and the overall well-being of neighbourhood residents.
On the same occasion, MP Malwinder Singh Kang also handed over a water tanker to the Eco Plantation Association from his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund. The tanker is expected to support community requirements, including the maintenance of green spaces and plantations, while strengthening local civic infrastructure. The initiative reflects continued efforts to improve environmental sustainability and enhance public amenities across Mohali.
The community meeting also provided an opportunity for residents to interact with their public representatives and discuss local development priorities. The discussion highlighted various public welfare initiatives and infrastructure projects undertaken by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Residents shared their views on the ongoing development of the area and discussed civic issues and future requirements for the locality.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that creating quality public amenities is essential for improving the everyday lives of residents. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening Mohali Infrastructure, expanding citizen services, and supporting community welfare through sustainable development initiatives. He added that regular interaction with residents helps ensure that development projects are planned in accordance with the needs of local communities. The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to the continued development of Sector 69 and the wider Mohali constituency. Through investments in public infrastructure, community facilities, environmental initiatives, and citizen-focused governance, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh continue to work towards building a healthier, greener, and better-connected SAS Nagar Mohali.
