Under the leadership and guidance of Bhagwant Mann, Kulwant Singh laid the foundation stone of the Balongi circular link road project and officially started construction work under the Public Works Department (B&R), Punjab.
The project is aimed at strengthening rural connectivity and improving transportation facilities for residents of Balongi and nearby areas.
The upgraded circular link road is expected to make daily travel smoother, safer and more convenient for villagers, farmers, school students and commuters who regularly use the route.
Speaking during the occasion, Kulwant Singh said the Punjab Government is continuously working to ensure balanced development across both urban and rural areas of Mohali constituency.
He stated that strengthening village infrastructure and road connectivity remains one of the key priorities of the government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann.
“Better roads directly improve people’s daily lives by reducing travel inconvenience, improving safety and strengthening connectivity between villages and nearby urban areas,” Kulwant Singh said.
Villagers and Panchayat members present during the event appreciated the Punjab Government’s development-focused initiative and thanked the government for continuously prioritising grassroots infrastructure projects.
Residents said the new road project would help improve transportation facilities and reduce difficulties faced during daily travel, especially during monsoon seasons and heavy traffic movement.
The foundation stone ceremony witnessed participation from local residents, Panchayat representatives and party workers, many of whom described the project as another important step toward strengthening rural infrastructure in Mohali constituency.
Over the last few years, road connectivity and infrastructure development projects have remained central to the Punjab Government’s governance agenda, particularly in rapidly expanding regions like Mohali where rural and urban development are increasingly interconnected.
For many residents, the beginning of the Balongi circular link road project represents another visible example of development reaching villages at the grassroots level.
