Kulwant Singh Starts ₹1.25 Crore Circular Link Road Projects In Five Mohali Villages | Mohali Dialogues

In a major boost to rural infrastructure and connectivity in Mohali constituency, Kulwant Singh laid the foundation stones and officially started construction work of circular link roads in villages Balliali, Ballomajra, Balongi, Barmajra and Tadauli with projects worth nearly ₹1.25 crore.

The road projects are part of the Punjab Government’s large-scale rural infrastructure initiative aimed at improving transportation facilities and strengthening village connectivity across Mohali constituency.

Speaking during the foundation stone ceremonies, Kulwant Singh said nearly 60 roads across Mohali constituency are being constructed under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann and most village roads in the constituency are expected to be completed within the next six months.

“I feel proud to share that almost every village in Mohali constituency will benefit from these road development projects. Once completed, these roads will significantly reduce transportation-related problems faced by residents,” Kulwant Singh said.

He further stated that the Punjab Government is ensuring high-quality construction standards for all road projects being executed under the initiative.

According to Kulwant Singh, one of the most important features of these projects is that the contractors have also been assigned responsibility for maintenance and repair of the roads for the next five years as part of the tender conditions.

“This is not just about constructing roads temporarily. The government is ensuring long-term quality and accountability so that people continue receiving proper infrastructure facilities even after completion of the projects,” he added.

Residents from Balliali, Ballomajra, Balongi, Barmajra and Tadauli welcomed the projects and appreciated the Punjab Government’s continued focus on grassroots development and rural infrastructure.

Villagers said damaged roads and poor connectivity had been causing inconvenience for daily commuters, school students, farmers and local residents for years, especially during monsoon seasons and heavy traffic movement.

Locals expressed confidence that the new circular link roads would improve transportation, strengthen village connectivity and make daily travel safer and more convenient for nearby communities.

The foundation stone ceremonies witnessed participation from Panchayat members, local residents and party workers, many of whom described the projects as one of the largest rural connectivity upgrades witnessed in the constituency in recent years.

Kulwant Singh also stated that Punjab is witnessing rapid development across multiple sectors under the Mann Government and said the state today is seeing infrastructure work at a pace that previous governments failed to achieve over decades.

“For the first time, people feel that public money is genuinely being spent on public welfare and visible development. Across Punjab, development work is continuously taking place at the grassroots level,” he said.

Over the last few years, infrastructure, road connectivity and public development projects have remained central to the Punjab Government’s governance agenda, particularly in rapidly expanding constituencies like Mohali where rural and urban development are increasingly interconnected.

For many residents, the beginning of these projects represents more than road construction alone —

it represents the growing confidence that development is now reaching every village of Mohali constituency.
