A new set of LED solar street lights was inaugurated in Landran village of SAS Nagar Mohali on 12 July 2026, marking another step towards improving public infrastructure and safety in the area. The solar lights were inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang from his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund, with the initiative aimed at strengthening security and improving visibility in the village.
MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the inauguration programme alongside local residents and community members. The installation of solar-powered street lights is expected to improve safety for pedestrians and commuters, particularly during the night, while also promoting the use of sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure. Better street lighting will contribute to enhanced security, ease of movement, and improved public convenience for residents of Landran.
Following the inauguration, MLA Kulwant Singh met with villagers and held discussions on various local issues affecting the community. Residents shared concerns related to civic amenities, infrastructure, and other development needs. He listened to their suggestions and assured them that all genuine matters would be taken up with the concerned departments for timely resolution. Such interactions continue to strengthen communication between citizens and the administration while helping identify priorities for future development.

He added that the concerns raised by villagers during the interaction would be pursued with the concerned authorities so that appropriate action could be taken at the earliest.
