A Mohali pilgrimage began today as three buses carrying senior pilgrims from village Mojpur and Sector-78 were flagged off with green flags under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan. The departure marked the start of a journey covering important religious, historical and cultural destinations. The senior pilgrims will return after completing visits to all the places included in the programme.
The buses brought together senior pilgrims from two Mohali locations: village Mojpur and Sector-78. Their journey has been organised under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan, which is supporting the group’s visit to a number of significant sites. The green-flag departure formally started the pilgrimage for the three buses and the elders travelling in them.
Mohali pilgrimage covers five destinations
The first major religious destination listed for the pilgrims is Shri Harmandir Sahib. The group will also visit Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal during the journey. These sites form the religious part of the itinerary and are among the places the senior pilgrims will visit before returning.
The itinerary also includes Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. Together with Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, these destinations give the Mohali pilgrimage a mix of religious, historical and cultural visits. The senior pilgrims will travel through the listed places as part of the same programme.
Three buses have started the journey from the two named Mohali locations, carrying the senior pilgrims towards the destinations included in the plan. The group is set to visit Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. After visiting these places, the pilgrims will return from the pilgrimage.
The journey is therefore centred on visits to five named destinations. Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal are religious places in the itinerary, while Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum are included as historical and heritage locations. The complete programme brings all five visits together for the senior participants from Mojpur and Sector-78.
The green flags shown at the departure marked the beginning of the travel programme under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan. With the three buses leaving today, senior pilgrims from village Mojpur and Sector-78 have begun the route that will take them to the religious, historical and cultural sites named for the journey. Their return will take place after the visits are completed.
Arrangements under Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan
During this Mohali pilgrimage, every facility of accommodation and food will be provided by the Mann government. The arrangement covers the senior pilgrims as they travel to the listed destinations and continue through the programme. Food and accommodation support will be available during the journey, helping the elders travel through the pilgrimage itinerary.
The Mann government’s assurance applies to the journey involving the three buses from Mojpur and Sector-78. As the senior pilgrims visit Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum, accommodation and food will be provided under the arrangements announced for the programme.
The pilgrimage thus connects senior residents from village Mojpur and Sector-78 with a five-place itinerary under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan. The route includes religious visits to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, followed by visits to Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The group will return after completing the full journey.
The departure of the three buses has started the programme for the senior pilgrims. With the Mann government providing every facility of accommodation and food during the journey, the elders will continue their visit to the named religious, historical and cultural sites before returning from the Mohali pilgrimage.
