Mohali pilgrimage buses carrying elderly pilgrims from Wave Estate left today under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Plan. Two buses began the journey after being sent off with green flags, marking the start of a pilgrimage that will cover religious, historical and heritage destinations. The pilgrims will return after visiting the places included in the planned programme.
The departure took place from Wave Estate in Mohali, where the two buses carrying the elderly pilgrims began their travel. The green-flag send-off marked the formal beginning of the journey under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Plan. The programme brings the travelling elders together for visits to several important sites during one organised pilgrimage.
The Mohali pilgrimage buses will take the elderly pilgrims to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. These five destinations are part of the announced itinerary. Together, they cover places connected with religious devotion, spiritual tradition, history and the heritage of the region.
Mohali pilgrimage buses begin visits to five destinations
Shri Harmandir Sahib is included among the destinations on the journey. The pilgrims will also visit Durgiana Temple as part of the same programme. The two religious sites form an important part of the planned travel, giving the elderly passengers an opportunity to undertake visits to both locations during the pilgrimage.
The itinerary also includes Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal. This visit will take place alongside the stops at Shri Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Temple. The inclusion of these destinations means that the pilgrimage covers more than one religious site as the elderly travellers continue their journey from Mohali.
Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum are also included in the planned visits. Their inclusion adds historical and heritage locations to the pilgrimage itinerary. The elderly pilgrims will travel to these sites along with the religious destinations before completing the programme and returning from the journey.
The two buses will therefore cover Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The listed places will be visited during the pilgrimage by the elderly passengers who left from Wave Estate. The green-flag departure marked the beginning of this scheduled travel under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Plan.
Facilities arranged during the pilgrimage
During the journey, the Mann government will provide every facility of accommodation and food for the elderly pilgrims. The arrangement covers their stay and meals while they travel under the pilgrimage programme. This assurance is part of the facilities being provided during the journey to the destinations included in the itinerary.
The Mohali pilgrimage buses have started the trip with the accommodation and food arrangements promised for the travelling elders. Along with organised bus travel, the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Plan includes these facilities for the pilgrims during the pilgrimage. The arrangement is intended to support the elderly passengers as they visit the listed religious, historical and heritage sites.
