As part of the ongoing Mohali Municipal Corporation election campaign, MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the “Aap Di Sarkar, Aap Da MC” programme in Wards No. 3 and 4 in support of Aam Aadmi Party candidates Bibi Gurmeet Kaur and S. Harbinder Singh. The outreach programme focused on engaging with local residents, discussing civic issues, and highlighting the importance of strong local governance for the development of the area.

During the campaign, residents from different parts of the wards gathered to interact with public representatives and share their views on matters related to civic infrastructure and public services. Discussions covered important local issues such as road maintenance, sanitation, street lighting, water supply, parks, waste management, and other community facilities that contribute to the quality of life of residents.

The “Aap Di Sarkar, Aap Da MC” initiative aims to strengthen communication between citizens and local representatives while encouraging active public participation in governance. Municipal councillors play a vital role in representing ward-level concerns, coordinating with civic authorities, and ensuring that development works are carried out efficiently. Their role is especially important in a growing city like Mohali, where the demand for improved infrastructure and citizen services continues to increase.

Residents attending the programme emphasized the importance of development-oriented governance and expressed interest in continued improvements to civic amenities and public facilities. Such interactions provide valuable insights into community needs and help ensure that future development efforts remain focused on public welfare and local priorities.

Mohali’s rapid urban growth has made effective municipal administration increasingly important. Strengthening local governance institutions and encouraging citizen engagement are essential for maintaining quality infrastructure, improving service delivery, and supporting sustainable urban development. Programmes such as these help build stronger connections between communities and their elected representatives.

Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has emphasized citizen-centric governance, improved public services, and stronger grassroots institutions. Municipal representatives are expected to contribute significantly to these efforts by working closely with residents and addressing local concerns in a timely manner.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh extended his best wishes to Bibi Gurmeet Kaur and S. Harbinder Singh for the upcoming elections. He said that public representatives should remain accessible to the people and work with dedication to improve civic services and address community concerns.

He further encouraged residents to actively participate in the democratic process and support candidates committed to development and public welfare. He expressed confidence that both candidates would work sincerely for their respective wards and contribute towards strengthening civic infrastructure and community development.

The programme concluded with interactions between residents and community leaders, reflecting the importance of grassroots engagement in local governance. As Mohali moved closer to the Municipal Corporation elections, the focus remained on development, better public services, and ensuring a higher quality of life for residents across all wards of the city.
