Solar-powered LED street lights were inaugurated in Gobindgarh village of SAS Nagar Mohali on 12 July 2026, marking another step towards strengthening public infrastructure and improving safety for local residents. The project was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Malwinder Singh Kang and has been implemented through his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) Fund to enhance security and provide better lighting across the village.
MLA Kulwant Singh attended the inauguration programme along with local residents and community representatives. The newly installed solar LED street lights are expected to improve visibility during the night, enhance public safety, and provide greater convenience for pedestrians and commuters. The use of solar-powered lighting also supports environmentally sustainable infrastructure by promoting energy-efficient public facilities.
Following the inauguration, MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with villagers to understand the issues affecting the community. Residents shared concerns related to civic amenities, village infrastructure, and other local development needs. He listened to their suggestions and assured them that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for timely action. Such interactions help strengthen communication between citizens and the administration while ensuring that development priorities reflect the needs of the local community.
The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, continues to focus on improving Mohali Infrastructure through investments in roads, public utilities, healthcare, education, sanitation, and village development. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that improving public safety and strengthening basic infrastructure remain important priorities for the development of villages across the constituency. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to expanding citizen services and delivering development that improves the everyday lives of residents. He added that the concerns raised by the villagers would be pursued with the concerned authorities to ensure timely resolution.
