The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has achieved a major milestone in electricity management, with Punjab reaching the second position in the country in overall power management performance.
According to government data, nearly 90 percent of households in Punjab are now receiving zero electricity bills under the state government’s free electricity initiative, providing major financial relief to ordinary families across the state. The improved electricity management system has also ensured uninterrupted daytime power supply for agricultural activities, bringing significant relief to farmers.
Kulwant Singh stated that the Punjab Government’s reforms and efficient electricity management have strengthened the power sector while reducing the burden on consumers. He said that reliable daytime electricity for agriculture has helped farmers carry out irrigation and farming operations more conveniently and efficiently.
Kulwant Singh further added that the Bhagwant Mann government remains committed to strengthening public services and implementing welfare-oriented policies that directly benefit households, farmers, and economically weaker sections across Punjab.
