Kulwant Singh Flags Off Saidpur–Chuhadmajra Link Road Strengthening Work | Mohali Dialogues

Residents of Saidpur and Chuhadmajra villages are set to receive improved road connectivity as construction work to strengthen the Saidpur–Chuhadmajra link road officially began today.

The project was launched under the guidance of Bhagwant Mann through the Public Works Department (B&R), Punjab, with Kulwant Singh laying the foundation stone for the road project.

For years, commuters and villagers travelling through the route had been facing difficulties because of damaged stretches and uneven road conditions, especially during rainy weather. With construction work now underway, residents say the project is expected to bring major relief to daily commuters, school students and farmers from the area.

Speaking during the event, Kulwant Singh said rural road connectivity remains one of the key focus areas of the Punjab Government.

“Villages should not remain disconnected from development. Better roads mean easier transportation, safer travel and stronger economic activity for local communities,” he said.

Local Panchayat members present during the ceremony appreciated the project and thanked the Punjab Government for initiating development work in the area.

Villagers said that improving the Saidpur–Chuhadmajra route would not only reduce travel inconvenience but would also improve access to nearby markets, schools and surrounding villages.

Unlike previous administrations where many rural roads remained neglected for years, residents said infrastructure projects are now becoming visible at the village level across Mohali constituency.

The foundation stone ceremony witnessed participation from Panchayat representatives, local residents and party workers from nearby villages.

As road construction machinery begins work on the Saidpur–Chuhadmajra stretch, many villagers see the project as another sign of rural infrastructure finally receiving long-awaited attention in the region.
