Healthcare infrastructure in SAS Nagar Mohali received a significant boost on 3 July 2026 with the dedication of a new Rural Health Training Centre at Saneta village. Established under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali, the centre has been developed to strengthen healthcare services in rural areas while also serving as a training facility for future medical professionals. The facility was dedicated to the public under the guidance of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh as part of the Punjab Government’s continued efforts to improve public healthcare.
MLA Kulwant Singh participated in the programme marking the opening of the Rural Health Training Centre, which is expected to play a dual role in serving the community. The centre will provide accessible healthcare services to residents of Saneta and nearby villages while offering practical clinical training to medical students and newly qualified doctors. By combining healthcare delivery with medical education, the facility is expected to contribute to the long-term strengthening of Punjab’s public health system.
The establishment of the Rural Health Training Centre is an important step towards improving access to quality healthcare in rural Mohali. Residents will benefit from better availability of primary healthcare services, medical consultations, preventive care, and other essential health facilities closer to their homes. At the same time, young doctors undergoing training will gain valuable experience by working directly with rural communities, helping prepare them for effective service in diverse healthcare settings.
The project forms part of the Punjab Government’s broader vision of strengthening healthcare infrastructure under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Alongside investments in hospitals, Mohalla Clinics, medical education, and public health services, initiatives such as the Rural Health Training Centre aim to improve healthcare accessibility while building a stronger and more efficient medical system. The collaboration with the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences further enhances the quality of healthcare and medical training available in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that quality healthcare should be accessible to every resident, regardless of where they live. He stated that the Rural Health Training Centre in Saneta will not only improve healthcare services for nearby villages but will also contribute to training the next generation of doctors. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, expanding medical education, and ensuring better public health services for the people of Mohali. The dedication of the Rural Health Training Centre marks another important milestone in Mohali Development. Through continued investment in healthcare infrastructure, medical education, and citizen-focused public services, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain committed to building a healthier, stronger, and more resilient SAS Nagar Mohali
