Residents travelling through the Nanumajra–Sambhalki–Sukhgarh–Saneta route are expected to witness major improvement in road connectivity as strengthening work on the link road and Sambhalki village circular road officially began today.
The project was launched under the guidance of Bhagwant Mann through the Public Works Department (B&R), Punjab, with Kulwant Singh laying the foundation stone and flagging off the construction work.
For many villagers, the road has remained a daily challenge for years due to damaged patches, uneven surfaces and poor connectivity during rainy weather. Local residents say the strengthening work is expected to improve transportation facilities and make travel smoother and safer across the entire stretch.
The project also includes strengthening work on the circular road of village Sambhalki, which residents believe will improve internal village movement and connectivity with nearby roads.
Speaking during the launch event, Kulwant Singh said rural infrastructure remains one of the key priorities of the Punjab Government.
“Development should reach every village equally. Better roads improve transportation, strengthen local connectivity and make everyday life easier for people,” he said.
He further added that the Punjab Government is continuously working toward improving grassroots infrastructure across Mohali constituency through quality-driven development projects.
Panchayat members present during the ceremony appreciated the initiative and thanked the Punjab Government for prioritising long-pending road infrastructure demands of the region.
Residents from Nanumajra, Sambhalki, Sukhgarh and Saneta expressed confidence that the upgraded roads would reduce travel inconvenience and improve daily movement for farmers, students and commuters.
Villagers also highlighted that stronger road infrastructure would improve access to nearby markets, schools and urban areas connected to the route.
Unlike earlier years when several rural roads remained neglected for long periods, residents said visible development work is now reaching villages across Mohali constituency.
The event witnessed participation from Panchayat representatives, local residents and party workers from nearby villages.
As construction machinery begins work across the route, many villagers see the project as another visible sign of infrastructure development steadily expanding across rural Mohali.
