Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana participated in a protest programme organised by the Aam Aadmi Party in SAS Nagar Mohali, where party leaders and workers raised concerns over what they described as attempts to politicise religious sentiments. The programme focused on expressing support for the governance and public welfare initiatives being undertaken by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the protest, participants stated that political discourse should remain centred on development, public welfare, and issues affecting the people rather than matters that could create social divisions. Speakers at the gathering expressed confidence that the people of Punjab value governance, transparency, and development-oriented policies, and appealed for maintaining peace, harmony, and mutual respect in society.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that Punjab has a long tradition of communal harmony and unity, and that public life should always reflect these values. He emphasised that constructive politics should focus on improving civic infrastructure, strengthening public services, creating better opportunities for citizens, and addressing the everyday concerns of the people.
The gathering also highlighted the importance of maintaining social harmony while ensuring that public attention remains focused on development initiatives and citizen welfare. Participants reiterated their support for policies aimed at improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, and municipal services across Punjab and Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to transparent governance, public welfare, and inclusive development. He said that Punjab’s progress depends on unity, peace, and constructive public participation. He appealed to citizens to remain focused on development, strengthen social harmony, and work together for the continued growth and prosperity of Mohali and the state. The programme reflected the continued emphasis on public engagement and dialogue on issues concerning governance and development.
