Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana flagged off two special pilgrimage buses from Village Mauli Baidwan in SAS Nagar Mohali under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme. The initiative, launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is aimed at enabling senior citizens to undertake spiritual journeys to important religious and historical places with comfort, dignity, and complete government support.
The pilgrimage will take senior citizens to some of Punjab’s most revered destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum in Amritsar. The journey combines spiritual devotion with an opportunity to experience the state’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Before the buses departed, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana interacted with the pilgrims and conveyed his best wishes for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling journey. He expressed happiness that elderly residents of Mauli Baidwan and nearby areas were receiving the opportunity to visit these sacred places without having to worry about travel arrangements or related expenses.
The Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme has been introduced to ensure that senior citizens can undertake religious journeys with dignity and convenience. The Punjab Government has made comprehensive arrangements for transportation and other essential facilities throughout the pilgrimage, allowing participants to focus on their spiritual experience.
