Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana attended an awareness camp organised at the School of Eminence, Phase 11, SAS Nagar Mohali, on the occasion of National Deworming Day. The programme was held under the leadership of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh Ji, with students and members of the school staff participating in the awareness activity.
During the programme, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana interacted with the students and staff members present at the camp and shared his views on the importance of maintaining good health and following healthy practices. He emphasised that awareness among children and young people plays an important role in promoting healthier communities.
The Mayor appreciated the efforts of the Health Department and the organisers for conducting the awareness programme at an educational institution. He said that schools provide an important platform for spreading health-related awareness among students, who can also carry these messages to their families and communities.
Speaking with the students and staff, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, cleanliness, proper nutrition, and awareness about preventive healthcare. He encouraged students to remain conscious of their health and to follow advice provided by qualified healthcare professionals and public health authorities.
The Mayor said that public health is closely connected with community awareness and responsible habits. Initiatives that bring health-related information directly to schools help create greater awareness among children and encourage them to adopt healthy practices from an early age.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that health awareness programmes such as National Deworming Day provide an important opportunity to educate children about preventive healthcare and healthy living. He appreciated Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh Ji and the concerned teams for their efforts and said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to focus on strengthening healthcare services and promoting public health awareness. He added that students are an important part of building healthier communities and encouraged them to take health and hygiene seriously. The awareness camp at the School of Eminence, Phase 11, reflected the importance of combining education with health awareness.
