Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana attended a meeting of the Punjab Trade Commission with traders and shopkeepers at Phase 7 Market, SAS Nagar Mohali, where he interacted with members of the local business community and listened to their concerns regarding civic infrastructure and commercial activities.
The meeting brought together traders, shopkeepers, and representatives of the Punjab Trade Commission to discuss issues affecting the functioning of the market. Participants shared concerns related to civic amenities, sanitation, parking, roads, drainage, street lighting, and other municipal services that impact the daily operations of businesses and the convenience of customers.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana carefully heard the issues and suggestions raised by the traders and assured them that all matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation would be taken up with the concerned departments for early resolution. He said that regular interaction with the business community is essential for understanding their requirements and ensuring that markets remain clean, accessible, and well-maintained.
The Mayor emphasised that traders and shopkeepers play an important role in the economic growth of Mohali. He said that creating a business-friendly environment through improved civic infrastructure and efficient municipal services benefits both the local economy and residents. He also encouraged traders to continue working in partnership with the Municipal Corporation to maintain cleanliness and improve public spaces in commercial areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure and improving public services across the state. He said that the Municipal Corporation will continue working closely with traders, market associations, and the concerned departments to address civic issues promptly and ensure that Mohali’s commercial areas remain well-developed, organised, and convenient for businesses as well as customers. The meeting reflected the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to engaging with all sections of society and addressing their concerns through responsive governance.
