A public meeting was organised in Manana village of SAS Nagar Mohali on 27 June 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns, and inaugurated a newly constructed village gym. The programme combined citizen engagement with the inauguration of a community facility aimed at promoting health, fitness, and youth development under the Punjab Government’s ongoing rural development initiatives led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the public meeting, villagers shared issues related to their locality and discussed development priorities for the village. MLA Kulwant Singh patiently heard the concerns raised by residents and assured them that each matter would be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate and timely resolution. The interaction reflected the continued emphasis on accessible and responsive governance, enabling residents to communicate directly with their elected representative and participate in the development process.
A major highlight of the programme was the inauguration of the newly built gym, which has been developed to encourage physical fitness and provide better recreational facilities for the youth of Manana village. Following the inauguration, the gym was formally handed over to the local community for public use. The new facility is expected to create a dedicated space where young people can engage in regular physical activity, promote healthy lifestyles, and participate in fitness-related activities without having to travel outside the village.
The inauguration generated considerable enthusiasm among local youth, who welcomed the addition of modern community infrastructure in their village. Facilities such as village gyms not only encourage healthy living but also strengthen community engagement by creating spaces where young people can pursue positive activities. The project forms part of the Punjab Government’s broader commitment to improving public infrastructure and expanding community facilities across rural areas of Mohali.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the development of villages goes beyond roads and public utilities and also includes creating opportunities that support the well-being and aspirations of young people. He stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to strengthening rural infrastructure, improving citizen services, and developing community assets that directly benefit residents. He added that regular interaction with villagers helps identify local priorities while ensuring that development projects continue to address the needs of every section of society. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to continue enhancing public infrastructure, community facilities, and citizen services across SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in Mohali Development and active engagement with local communities, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain focused on improving the quality of life for residents while supporting the overall development of villages across the constituency.
