Kulwant Singh Announces 60 Link Roads And 32 Playgrounds Across Mohali Constituency | Mohali Dialogues

Expressing happiness over the rapid pace of development taking place across Mohali constituency, Kulwant Singh announced that construction work on nearly seven major link roads across different villages of the constituency has officially begun, while around 60 link roads and 32 playgrounds are also being developed under the Punjab Government’s infrastructure initiative.

Speaking during the foundation stone ceremonies of multiple rural road projects, Kulwant Singh said several village roads had remained neglected for nearly 15 years and were awaiting proper repair and strengthening.

“I feel proud and happy that today the construction work of several important roads across my constituency has started. Some of these roads were not repaired for the last 15 years, while some roads are being newly constructed,” Kulwant Singh said.

He further stated that unlike previous governments which focused on “false promises and political slogans,” the Mann Government believes in delivering visible development work at the ground level.

“Our government does not show false dreams to people. We believe in working honestly at the grassroots level and ensuring that development directly reaches villages and ordinary citizens,” he added.

Kulwant Singh said nearly 60 link roads across Mohali constituency are expected to be constructed very soon under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann.

Alongside road infrastructure, he also announced that around 32 playgrounds are currently under construction in Mohali constituency as part of efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and provide better facilities for youth.

According to Kulwant Singh, this may be the first government that has carried out development work on such a large scale across Mohali constituency within a relatively short period.

Importantly, he highlighted that the Punjab Government is also focusing heavily on construction quality and long-term accountability in infrastructure projects.

Kulwant Singh stated that the tenders issued for the road projects include a mandatory five-year maintenance guarantee under which contractors will remain responsible for repairs and upkeep of the roads.

“We are not only building roads — we are ensuring quality and long-term durability. Contractors will have to maintain these roads for five years under the tender conditions,” he said.

Residents from different villages welcomed the large-scale infrastructure push and appreciated the government’s focus on strengthening connectivity and public facilities across rural areas of Mohali.

Villagers said many roads had remained damaged for years and often created major inconvenience for commuters, students, farmers and emergency transportation during rainy seasons.

Locals expressed confidence that the upcoming projects would improve transportation facilities, strengthen village connectivity and make daily travel significantly easier and safer.

Kulwant Singh also thanked Bhagwant Mann and the Punjab Government on behalf of residents of Mohali constituency for continuously supporting development work in the region.

Over the last few years, infrastructure, connectivity and grassroots development projects have remained central to the Punjab Government’s governance agenda, particularly in rapidly expanding constituencies like Mohali where rural and urban growth are increasingly interconnected.

For many residents, the scale of ongoing development work represents more than infrastructure expansion alone —

it represents a growing belief that development is now reaching villages that remained ignored for years.
