Under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan, three buses carrying elderly pilgrims have departed from two villages in Mohali for a religious, historical and heritage journey. One bus left from village Manak Majra, while two buses departed from village Mote Majra. The departure brings elderly residents from both villages together for a pilgrimage covering five named destinations before their return.
The Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan journey includes visits to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The itinerary brings together places of worship as well as locations connected with history, heritage and the experiences associated with Punjab's past.
The bus arrangement has been specified for each village. Manak Majra sent one bus, and Mote Majra sent two buses. Together, the three buses are carrying elderly pilgrims from the two Mohali villages. Their departure marks the start of the visit programme under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan.
Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan includes five destinations
Shri Harmandir Sahib is the first named religious destination in the pilgrimage itinerary. The elderly pilgrims will also visit Durgiana Temple. These two places of worship form an important part of the journey and are included alongside the other religious, historical and heritage locations listed for the trip.
The itinerary also includes Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal. This visit is followed in the listed programme by stops at Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. As a result, the journey is not limited to religious sites. It also includes places connected with important historical and heritage themes.
The elderly pilgrims will return after visiting all five destinations named for the journey. The listed places are Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The pilgrimage therefore combines visits to religious sites with stops at locations of historical and heritage significance.
The journey began with the departure of one bus from Manak Majra and two buses from Mote Majra. From there, the elderly participants will travel for the visits included in the programme. The five destinations remain the central part of the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan journey, after which the pilgrims will return to their villages.
Accommodation and food during the pilgrimage
During the pilgrimage, the Mann government will provide accommodation and food for the elderly pilgrims. These facilities cover the stay and meals arranged during the journey. The assurance applies to the participants travelling in the three buses that departed from Manak Majra and Mote Majra.
The provision of accommodation and food is part of the facilities being made available under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan. For the elderly pilgrims, the arrangements will continue during the journey as they visit Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The pilgrimage thus brings together elderly participants from two Mohali villages for a common programme of religious and heritage visits. One bus from Manak Majra and two from Mote Majra are taking part. After completing the listed visits, the pilgrims will return, with accommodation and food provided by the Mann government during the journey.
The departure highlights the scope of the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Plan for this group of elderly pilgrims from Mohali. The programme covers the five named destinations and includes both places of worship and sites linked with history and heritage. With the buses now on the journey, the participants will visit the listed locations before returning to their villages.
