Two buses from the Mohali villages of Kandala and Balongi departed today with elderly pilgrims under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan. The journey has been arranged for senior residents of the two villages, who will visit a combination of religious, historical and heritage destinations before returning. The pilgrimage brings the two village groups together for a shared journey to important places included in the programme.
The Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan journey will take the elderly pilgrims to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. These five destinations form the stated itinerary for the trip. The pilgrims will return after visiting each of the named places during the pilgrimage.
The departure of the buses marks the beginning of the visit for the groups travelling from Kandala and Balongi. The pilgrims will travel together under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan and complete the listed visits before making their return journey. The programme therefore covers both religious sites and locations connected with history, heritage and the shared cultural memory of the region.
Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan journey
The itinerary begins with religious destinations that include Shri Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Temple. Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal is also included among the places the pilgrims will visit. Together, these destinations represent the religious part of the journey and are being covered as part of the visit arranged for the elderly pilgrims from the two Mohali villages.
The journey also includes Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. These locations form the historical and heritage part of the itinerary. The pilgrims are scheduled to visit both places along with the three religious destinations, making the trip a combination of religious observance and visits to sites associated with important chapters of history.
For the elderly pilgrims, the departure provides an opportunity to travel to all five destinations as part of one organised programme. The two buses have left from Kandala and Balongi for this purpose. Once the visits are completed, the pilgrims will return after covering Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum.
The Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan covers the travel of the elderly pilgrims from the two villages and the facilities connected with their stay during the journey. The programme’s stated arrangement is intended to support the pilgrims throughout the visit, from their departure until they complete the pilgrimage and return.
Accommodation and food arrangements
During the pilgrimage, every facility of accommodation and food will be provided by the Mann government. The assurance covers the stay and meals of the elderly pilgrims while they are travelling under the plan. These arrangements are part of the support being provided for the journey from Kandala and Balongi.
The provision of accommodation means the pilgrims will have arrangements for their stay during the trip, while food will also be provided throughout the pilgrimage. Both facilities have been included in the arrangements for the elderly travellers visiting the five destinations. The stated support applies during the journey as the pilgrims move through the religious, historical and heritage locations on the itinerary.
With the two buses departed, the pilgrims will continue their visit to Shri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. The trip combines visits to places of worship with visits to Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum, while Bhagwan Valmiki Tirth Sathal is also part of the named route.
The pilgrimage from Kandala and Balongi thus brings together elderly pilgrims from both Mohali villages for the same five-location visit. Their return will follow the completion of the listed destinations. Throughout the journey, accommodation and food will be provided by the Mann government under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Plan.
The departure is the first step in the scheduled pilgrimage for the elderly groups. As the buses proceed with the journey, the pilgrims will visit the five specified locations and then return. The programme’s central arrangement remains the same: a pilgrimage for elderly residents of Kandala and Balongi, with religious, historical and heritage visits supported by accommodation and food facilities.
