Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann met residents during a Lok Milani programme at Barmajra village in the Mohali constituency on 28 August 2026, where a large number of villagers gathered to interact with the Chief Minister and discuss issues concerning the area.
The programme witnessed significant participation from local residents, including a large number of women. During the interaction, residents expressed their views on the facilities and welfare measures provided by the Mann Government and thanked the government for fulfilling promises made to the people.
Women present at the programme also expressed their appreciation for the honourarium provided under the government’s welfare initiatives. Their participation added to the public interaction and provided an opportunity for them to directly convey their views to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
A key announcement during the programme was a special grant of ₹50 lakh for development works in Barmajra village. The grant is expected to support development-related works and improve facilities for residents of the village.
The Lok Milani programme provided a direct platform for villagers to interact with the Chief Minister, raise local concerns and discuss development priorities. Such programmes are aimed at strengthening communication between the government and people at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the large participation of residents reflected the importance of direct public interaction. He appreciated the villagers for sharing their views and welcoming Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
He also welcomed the announcement of the ₹50 lakh special development grant for Barmajra and said that such funds would support development works in the village and help improve local facilities.
MP Malwinder Singh Kang, along with party leaders and workers, was also present during the programme. MLA Kulwant Singh expressed his gratitude to all the residents, leaders, workers, and others who participated in the Lok Milani programme.
