Sahajpreet Kaur, daughter of Sardar Darshan Singh of Mataur and Municipal Councillor Kulwinder Kaur, has brought pride to the Mohali constituency and Punjab with an impressive run of performances in shooting.

Within a short span of time, Sahajpreet Kaur secured opportunities to compete at the national level in three different shooting events, marking a significant achievement in her sporting journey.

In the 10-metre Air Pistol event, she progressed from the district and state levels to the pre-national stage. In the .22 calibre 25-metre Pistol event, she qualified through strong performances at the state and pre-national levels.

Her achievement in the 50-metre Free Pistol event was particularly notable, as she secured a confirmed place in the nationals after winning a gold medal at the pre-national competition.

Competing at the national level in three different events is a significant accomplishment for a young athlete and has brought an atmosphere of celebration to Mataur village. Her performances also highlight the growing participation of young athletes from the Mohali region in competitive sports. Sahajpreet Kaur’s achievement is being viewed as a matter of pride for her family, Mataur village and the wider Mohali constituency, as she prepares to represent herself at the national level across three shooting disciplines.
