MLA Kulwant Singh met a team of youth volunteers from the Mohali constituency on 28 July 2026 who have been actively working at the grassroots level to support the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign. The interaction was held to acknowledge their efforts, encourage continued public participation, and strengthen the collective fight against drug abuse.
During the meeting, MLA Kulwant Singh appreciated the dedication of the young volunteers who have been creating awareness in local communities and encouraging people, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs. He said that meaningful social change is possible only when citizens, particularly young people, actively participate in public awareness campaigns and community welfare initiatives.
The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has intensified its campaign against drug abuse through strict enforcement, awareness programmes, rehabilitation efforts, and community participation. Alongside action against drug trafficking, the government has been promoting initiatives that encourage young people to adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute positively to society.
MLA Kulwant Singh noted that the role of volunteers is crucial in reaching communities at the grassroots level, where awareness and personal guidance can help individuals make informed choices. He said that every person who is encouraged to leave addiction behind and return to a healthy, productive life represents a significant achievement for society as a whole.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the commitment shown by the youth volunteers is an inspiration for the entire constituency. He stated that those working selflessly to help people overcome drug addiction are rendering a valuable service to society. He assured the team of his full support in their efforts and encouraged them to continue spreading awareness, motivating young people, and strengthening the campaign against drugs across Mohali. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to work together for a drug-free and healthier Punjab. Through active community participation, youth leadership, and sustained awareness initiatives, the Punjab Government and local volunteers continue to contribute towards building a safer and more prosperous future for the state’s younger generation.
