Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana stressed the importance of maintaining a clean city and ensuring that drainage infrastructure functions efficiently, especially during the rainy season. He directed the concerned officers to strengthen sanitation arrangements, carry out regular cleaning of drains, and ensure that water flows smoothly to minimise the risk of waterlogging and inconvenience to residents.
The Mayor also instructed officials to remain vigilant and monitor areas that are more vulnerable to drainage issues. He emphasised that preventive maintenance and timely cleaning are essential for improving public health, protecting civic infrastructure, and maintaining a cleaner urban environment. Regular field inspections, he said, help identify issues at an early stage and ensure that corrective action is taken without delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that cleanliness and efficient drainage are among the Municipal Corporation’s highest priorities. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is working to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve public services across Mohali.
