A Lok Milni programme was organised in Barmajra village of SAS Nagar Mohali on 7 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents to discuss ongoing development works, public welfare initiatives, and the progress achieved across the constituency. The programme aimed to strengthen direct engagement with villagers while providing updates on key development projects undertaken by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the meeting, residents were informed about the major public welfare programmes and development initiatives implemented over the past four and a half years. Discussions focused on improvements in Mohali Infrastructure, road development, healthcare, education, rural development, citizen services, and other projects that have contributed to improving the quality of life for residents across SAS Nagar Mohali. The interaction also gave villagers an opportunity to share their views and discuss local development priorities.
As part of the programme, a special documentary based on the life, philosophy, and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji was screened for the villagers. The documentary was presented under an initiative of the Punjab Government to promote awareness of the teachings and values of the revered saint, including equality, social justice, compassion, and harmony. The screening was appreciated by those present and encouraged greater understanding of the enduring relevance of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji’s message in contemporary society.
The programme reflected the importance of combining infrastructure development with social awareness and cultural outreach. Community interactions such as Lok Milni help strengthen communication between citizens and the administration, improve transparency in governance, and ensure that development remains responsive to local needs. They also create awareness about government initiatives while encouraging greater public participation in the development process.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that meaningful development is achieved by improving public infrastructure while also promoting values that strengthen society. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to enhancing citizen services, expanding public welfare initiatives, and preserving Punjab’s rich social and cultural heritage. He added that regular interaction with residents helps ensure that governance remains transparent, inclusive, and focused on the needs of every community. The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to the continued development of SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in public infrastructure, citizen-focused governance, community welfare programmes, and initiatives that promote social harmony, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building a stronger and more inclusive Mohali
