A significant step towards strengthening rural development and improving the lives of residents was taken as financial assistance was distributed to villages and deserving families under the Punjab Government’s development initiatives. Under the Rangla Punjab programme, grants were provided for development works in villages, while financial support was also extended to families for the construction of houses.
During the programme, cheques were distributed to 39 villages for development projects under a grant package of ₹2 crore. The funds are expected to support a range of local development works aimed at improving public infrastructure and community facilities. Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening rural areas by addressing local needs and supporting long-term development goals.
Village-level development remains a key component of inclusive growth. Funds allocated through programmes such as Rangla Punjab help improve basic infrastructure and create better living conditions for residents. Development works supported through these grants may contribute to improvements in public amenities, community assets, and other facilities that directly benefit local populations.
In addition to village development grants, financial assistance was also provided to 31 needy families for the construction of houses. Access to safe and secure housing remains an important aspect of social welfare and community development. Support for house construction helps families improve their living conditions and provides greater security and dignity to beneficiaries.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to ensure that development reaches both communities and individual families who require support. By combining infrastructure development with targeted welfare assistance, such programmes contribute to improving the quality of life for residents across rural areas.
For villages within the Mohali constituency and other parts of Punjab, investments in local infrastructure and housing support are helping strengthen rural development and promote social welfare. Improved facilities and better living conditions can have a lasting positive impact on communities, particularly for economically vulnerable families.
Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has focused on strengthening rural infrastructure, supporting community development, and implementing welfare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens. Programmes such as Rangla Punjab form an important part of these efforts by addressing both development needs and social welfare priorities.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that development should reach every village and every deserving family. He stated that grants provided under the Rangla Punjab initiative will help strengthen local infrastructure and support community development, while housing assistance will provide meaningful relief to families in need.
He further emphasized that improving living conditions and expanding access to basic facilities remain important priorities. According to him, continued investment in villages and welfare initiatives will contribute to stronger communities and better opportunities for future generations. The distribution of development grants and housing assistance marks another step towards inclusive growth and citizen welfare. As Mohali and Punjab continue to progress, initiatives focused on rural development, public welfare, and community empowerment will remain important pillars of development-oriented governance
